The Other Way; S2, EP 14

Jenny & Smit:

The dynamic duo are discussing the beginnings of their relationship, when Jenny came to India in 2013 to meet Suemee for the first time and stayed at his parents’ house. The Jenny version states that she had stayed for a few months in which she lived on the third floor of their house. She and Smie acted like friends, but at night,he would come up to her room so they could “do their thing” (aka, She punched his V card). Eventually his parents figured out what was going on and wanted Jenny gone. She left, and the Parents Smee of course could not accept the age difference or their relationship, and would not allow it to continue. Hence why she’s constantly crying.

Stewmeat is taking his time walking to his parents house, while we get to finally meet the parents’ Sueme, who gave us the real story. Apparently Jenny came to visit in 2013, as she had mentioned, but under the guise that she wanted to visit India as Soomit’s platonic Facebook friend. She was supposed to stay for 2 weeks but ended up staying for 4 months, in which she befriended them and lived on the third floor of their house. They noticed Siouxmet leaving his twin bed with his batman sheet and going up to her room late at night, but had no idea that Jenny was interested in coming to India to learn about Karma Sutra. They felt duped and therefore are not team Jenny (as well as the fact that they think she is too old for him, and would really like to have grandchildren, realizing she can’t tote). I guess we’ll have to wait until October to see if Some-it is grounded or not.

Deavan & Jihoon:

It’s time for Mama Elicia to head home from Korea. She and Deavan went to have some alone time over a cup of tea, leaving the kids with Jihoon who Ironically 2 weeks ago was unfit to watch Drascilla at the park, but has now been deemed fit to babysit for 2 consecutive episodes (I’m sure he wishes he wasn’t- looked like Drascilla was beating him up and taking his lunch money while dressed like a Sailor Moon character). Deavan’s mom expressed her concern about leaving her daughter and grandkids but Deavan seemed willing to give her relationship one last chance. Then Coronavirus hit…. (which was actually all Jihoon’s fault…)

Ariella & BBB:

This episode started out with Biniyam wearing a pink shower cap, sitting on the floor of the hotel with a kiddie pool…. (Not sure if he was trying to simulate their “birth plan” or what) while Ariela begins to open up about how she’s feeling. It seems like it took her mom going back to the U.S. for Ariela to finally wake up out of her smiling delusional coma that she’s been in for 13 freaking episodes and finally start appropriately freaking out about the reality of her current situation.  BBB assures her it’ll all be fine and she will love giving birth in Ethiopia and staying there with no friends or family while he’s out every night playing butt bongos, but she’s starting to get skeptical. Here’s your late pass, Ariela!

They couple went to look at a new, modern apartment together to hopefully find a place with a toilet seat. BBB feels he can not afford this type of place on his salary of $500/month between all of his many jobs (choreographer/karate kid/circus performer/ass-tapper in night clubs). Discouraged, they took a cab with the shiftiest eyed cab driver who was totally eavesdropping on their backseat fight. BBB wanted one more week to finish renovating his cousin’s apartment, which Ariela feels should have been done before her arrival. She is finally realizing that there is absolutely no plan in place of how they are going to take care of the baby, and doesn’t trust that BBB is going to pull through. A big fight ensues, which should be her cue to just get out of there fast before it’s no longer safe to fly, but it looks like she stays, being that the preview shows her being dragged screaming in to have a C-section.

Karmando

Kenny is getting ready to say goodbye to his daughters. That’s it. That’s kind of all that happened. (Oh wait, he did say goodbye to them). Team Karmando is preparing to head to Armando’s hometown to meet the parents, but apparently it’ll take a month to get there, since we won’t get to see that go down until October. The whole story would be more interesting if it followed the premise of “Coco”. Like if Armando needed to have a family member’s blessing to marry Kenny, so he went to the Land of the Dead (accompanied by his spirit guide, Truffles), hoping to get the flower petal of approval. Just saying…

Brittany & Yazan:

Brittany is packed up and ready to fly to Chicago, telling Yazan that the trip is to see her sister’s new baby, when in reality she is going to finalize her divorce. Yazan suspects she’s lying and might be leaving for good (which is probably a good idea), but she promised she’d come back.  The previews looked pretty intense, as they showed Yazan’s dad basically taking a hit out on him for some reason we don’t yet know, but seemingly Brittany related.

Cheesestick & Melyza:

Is it even worth recapping?
The non-couple went to get a snack, while Cheesestick explained how hard it was to get a job in Columbia. He mentioned that getting married would make things easier, though he knows Melyza isn’t into that idea. She just stared at him with disgust the whole time, driving home the fact that marriage definitely is not an option, kind of enjoying torturing him. She even told him he was annoying for looking at her.
Cheese stick admits that he didn’t give up his job in the U.S., because he wasn’t sure how things would work out, which gave Melyza even more reason to be annoyed. He gets up to leave, while she looks at the camera and admits she has a secret of her own she’s been hiding from him. Did she revenge-cheat? Did she write something bad about him on the wall of a public bathroom? Has she been giving him small doses of poison in his chorizo this whole time?? I guess we’ll have to wait until October to find out. (When we all officially forget who they even are….)
