MAFS S11, EP 3

Amelia & Bennett:

This week picks up at the moment of recognition while Amelia is walking down the aisle. It seems like Amelia and Bennett had met before months ago at a party, though they had spoken and left on a positive note (not anything bad like last week’s editing wanted us to believe). The vows were just as strange as you’d expect, with Bennett’s family again announcing that he likes to talk to garbage cans and Amelia’s family prepping Bennett that he would need to ply her with peanut butter. Their friends and family looked like they meshed really well as the cameras panned the kooky crowd. After the ceremony they chatted about their former meeting, and how they both had a mutual friend as well as many mutual interests. Bennett was a big fan of Amelia’s wedding attire insanity, and admitted to being interested in Amelia when they had met previously. Amelia was immediately attracted to him as well. This may just be the love story we were all hoping it would be after all!

The reception was just as nutty as the rest. The bridesmaids were all still wearing their fringey face veils as they fired questions at the groom.

The reception concluded with Amelia’s bizarre family tradition of having the groom catch an egg in his mouth as its dangled over his head by a string tied to a stick. Bennett, always down for a good time, was more than willing to participate, even eating the raw egg. Amelia couldn’t believe he ATE the egg, thinking that was weird. (Yeah…THAT was weird! Don’t worry about the rest of it….)

Back at the hotel room, Amelia slipped into her sensual green flannel Elmur Fudd chic pajamas, while Bennett wore a sultry nightgown, which made him feel like a human carrot. This marriage is definitely going to work out.

Brett & Olivia:

Olivia and Brett seemed to have easy, natural conversations throughout the night, and seemed to get along pretty well. Though I didn’t initially feel Brett was attracted to her, he did claim to be and was at least smiling and laughing with her during the reception. Back in the hotel room, they respectfully kissed goodnight for the cameras before hitting the hay, each wearing appropriate (not human carrot) pajamas.

Karen & Miles:

After the ceremony, Karen and Miles talked, and It seems like they both found each other physically attractive. Karen did seem a bit weirded out throughout the reception (ok, she did just marry a stranger on television, I guess she’s entitled). Back at the hotel room, she asked Miles for a foot massage, which he of course agreed to. It still seems too soon to say if this is a great match or not, as they’re both so mellow. I still love her dress, though… (and I guess she did too, as she fell asleep in it).

Christina & Henry:

We saw Christina getting ready for her big day, asking the stylist for “you know, that old movie star hair” (this happens to be my specialty, and I gotta say, they did an AWFUL job executing it, but better them than me! She seems like she’d be difficult). The limp Hollywood waves seemed to have been the least of Christin’s problems. At first she just seemed to be nervous and anxious, causing her to come across as rude. However as the wedding episode progressed, it seemed to reveal that this was just her personality. She was in such a rush to get to the ceremony, and seemed annoyed with production. She even managed to annoy her bridesmaids.

Henry was being roasted by his dad in his hotel room, who definitely reminded me of Bobby Boucher’s dad from The Waterboy (maybe it was the Louisiana accent, maybe it was his overall look).  Poor Henry had a nervous tick the entire time he was standing at the altar, and it was painful how awkward he was. Christina’s veil got stuck in the door, where she should have just stayed but instead, her mother released her train and off she went, down the aisle to meet Henry. It didn’t seem to be love at first sight, as neither of them could seem to look directly at the other. Christina at least reacted to a few of the “about Henry” things the officiant read off, though there was random inappropriate music edited in over most of the audio, making things seem even worse than they were.

Their “after wedding” conversation was awkward and painful as well. Christina felt the need to talk about her previous failed relationships, while Henry was studying the pavement carefully.

The reception was even more crawl-out-of-your-skin fun, as they had no chemistry whatsoever. The one time Henry did start to speak, Christina rudely interrupted him, randomly realizing she forgot to put on her earrings. Henry’s drunken girlfriends (Regina George and Gretchen Weiners) came over to introduce themselves to Christina and make their presence known. I have a feeling they’ll be popping up later in the season to sabotage the already doomed relationship. The “experts” must have made this match after drinking too much celebratory champagne  for the match of Bennett and Amelia.

Woody & Amani:

I’m still completely shocked how into team Woodmani I am!! They are killing it! Their conversation after the wedding seemed easy, though Woody was laying on the charm pretty thick. The reception seemed pretty natural, and they both seemed to be having a great time. Amani’s dad and stepfather were very receptive to Woody, and he has really won everyone over.

Back at the hotel room, we got to see all of Woody’s many abs, as the couple got ready for bed. They were really cute together and are my current favorite.
