Love After Lockup, Ep 17

Destinie & Shawn:

Destinie is still hiding out at her sister’s house, remaining firm in her decision not to speak to Shawn. Her sister Britinie admitted that there was a good chance Destinie could be using Shawn for his money, since she’s most likely going back to jail and will want the financial support.

Meanwhile, Shawn went in to work to confide in his coworker about his Destinie. The coworker did a quick one second search on Facebook (something Shawn neglected to do all of this time) and found two separate profiles where Destinie claimed to be engaged to two other men. He finally started to believe that Destinie was possibly using him the whole time. Good thing he never stopped talking to Kelly….

Sarah, Michael & Malcolm in the Middle:

Sarah is ready to go to court to battle it out for custody of the pretty girls. Malcolm (who is basically craft services at this point, always providing meal options), expresses his concern for Sarah’s display of emotions over Michael. After arriving at the courthouse and no Michael to be found, an angry Sarah tried calling, but no such luck .Production, however, caught up with Michael at his hotel room, who overslept and missed his court date. He seemed to be slightly bothered by missing this important date, but it was the devil d*ck that made him do it. There were beer bottles all over his hotel room, as he explained that he did his due diligence by setting not only his alarm, but his flavor of the night’s alarm as well. 

Sarah left court (in her weird man tailored shirt and leggings combo) and immediately called Michael to see why he was absent. Though saying “I overslept” is easy enough, Michael felt the need to “pop up” on Sarah at her house (but probably because he was hungry, and knew Malcolm had all of the good snacks).

Brittany & Marcellino:
Brittany set out to go to her old stomping grounds (aka an old skeezy motel where she used to spend time in her drug days) in an attempt to help her mother. Brittany’s mother was exponentially thinner than last we saw her, and actually looked a lot better, despite her current state of affairs. She tried to convince Brittany that things were on the up and up, which is generally hard to do when you’re living in a motel filled with beer cans and lost 40 lbs in 2 weeks (the only other explanation would be BomBod….). After denying that she had an issue for a few minutes, Brittany’s mom finally broke down in tears, begging for help. Brittany claimed that the only way she would help her mother was if she committed to getting clean and staying sober, which she has struggled with for years. Though Brittany isn’t holding her breath, she agreed to leave her kids and take her mom to meetings every day (but partly because she might be tired of Baby Shark).

Amber, no Vince, and a new Puppy:

Amber is now living her best civilian life working at a restaurant and seemed to finally be living life on the up and up. Though she admits her new salary is quite the pay cut from her old days of slinging meth, she feels very positive and is moving up to becoming a manager. She rehashed her past relationship with Vince, once again explaining that it was solely based on having access to Vince’s money so she, her mom and Puppy would have a nest egg when they got out of the big house.  Amber worried about her mom’s impending release from prison and how it would affect her new, honest life. Though she had her doubts, she was extremely happy to see her mother on the outside, as they had a touching reunion near a gas station. The two headed to a cafeteria style restaurant to celebrate the momentous occasion. Mama Amber encouraged Amber to pursue a relationship with Puppy on the outside, as she recognizes how happy her daughter is when the two are together. Amber explained to her mother that she is no longer interested in scamming men, or anyone for that matter, for money, and just wants to stay on the straight and narrow. 

Mama Lacey & Papa Chain:

Big daddy Chain is chit chatting in the yard with his best buddy, bringing him up to speed on the pregnancy news. Chain is so excited to be a dad, and can’t wait until Chain Jr makes his debut. Hearing of all of the positive family news between his marriage and soon to be first child, Chain’s friend vows to help keep the peace by being on Chon alert, since Chon is slated to be released that day.

Next up we see Lacey and Chain go to a birthing class, which is the best thing I’ve seen on tv in a long time. Papa Chain is taking this childbirth thing so seriously, learning about new parts of the female anatomy as well as their functions. He may even have a new career path as a Doula at the rate things seem to be going!…. (Or maybe just keep selling Scentzy. Yeah, maybe keep selling Scentzy).
