90 Day Fiance- The Other Way; Season 6 Episode 4

Josh & Lily:

Josh finally arrived at his new palace with Lily happily giving him the grand tour. The two rode the household elevator together (Which even played music), and opened to reveal the master suite. Lily was able to control all elements of the room with an app on her cell phone, which was equal parts impressive and terrifying. Josh was most impressed by the English subtitles on all of the light switches so he would actually know what he was doing (Including the bidet. I don’t think anyone wants risk hitting the wrong button on the bidet). Though the house that Lily carefully curated seems like dream home, it also feels a bit like the start of a horror movie where the smiling female character slowly turns diabolical and uses her phone app to trap you in her dream house in a “Squid Games”-like scenario. But maybe Josh is into that….. The next morning the two headed out to try on traditional wedding garb for their upcoming Chinese wedding. While in the fitting room, Lily passive-aggressively mentioned the cost of the outfits, and Josh’s inability to contribute towards their wedding fund. He claimed that they were only having this “special wedding” because Lily wanted to, while she felt like she was doing it for Josh…guess things got lost in translation. I definitely look forward to their fights in the fancy house. James & Hakuna Ma-TATA: It was finally time for James to leave his pup Jojo and the old elevator biz behind him to head to Indonesia and his banana chip enterprise. As he rode off to the airport, he worried about the whole Indonesia plan crashing and burning, and not being able to “elevate’ himself back up if he returned.

Back in Indonesia, Tata was enjoying her time home with her family, who were under the impression that she was only sticking around for a month. She decided to tell her sister first about the idea of moving back permanently, and was surprised by the lack of excitement. Sister Metata didn’t understand why the couple would want to live in Indonesia, especially since it would be very hard for a foreigner to make a living when he doesn’t speak the language (See your predecessors: Brandon and Mary). Though she understood, Metata was hoping her family might be excited to have her home, especially her parents, who she planned to move back in with. My guess is the only person who would be excited to house James for free would be Lily, as he could fix her very expensive elevator if something happened.

Shekinah & The Sarper Image:

After their big fight, Sarper managed to put on the charm and get back in Shekinah’s good graces. He proved his love to her by refraining from waxing his back in her absence, as not to have another woman wax it and accidentally wind up having sex with them (And possibly acquiring another bottle). Shekinah (Who happens to be an aesthetician) agreed to wax the human Pepe Le Pew, which helped work out some frustration as well as kept him “Smooth like baby seal” (Said in my best Sarper voice). As she plucked and pulled, Shekinah discussed their thoughts on the K1 Visa, seeming somewhat surprised that Sarpie was not thrilled about moving to the US. Clearly he wasn’t thinking about all of the opportunities to take his bottle collecting international.

Statler & Dempsey:

Statler went through her apartment, saying goodbye to all of her appliances as she knew life in a van was going to be without her creature comforts once van-life began. She then went over to her friend Natalie’s house to store some of her prized possessions, and discuss the upcoming new life adventure. Natalie encouraged Statler to try and slow her roll, as she felt like she was in a lot of crash and burn relationships (which are bad analogies especially for someone moving into a van). Here’s to watching several panic attacks this season!
