90 Day Fiancé- The Other Way; Season 6 Episode 2

Shekinah & The Sarper Image:

Shekinah was preparing to head back to Turkey with her pup in tow, but slightly worried about Sarper’s ability to let go of his former lifestyle. She complained to her friend about the insane “bottle collection” (mementos of his past conquests) as well as his infamous notebook, commemorating all of his “body counts”. She agreed to go back to Turkey to work on their differences, but also because she was waiting for the news of their K1 Visa, as she was hoping to bring The Sarper Image to LA where he belongs. Sarper, who really enjoys counting as made clear by the X’s in his notebook, counted down every second until Shekinah’s return, as he excitedly drove to the airport to retrieve her. Sarps waited patiently at the baggage claim, as Shekinah made her triumphant return and the two kissed passionately, like the cover of a romance novel came to life. They only stopped momentarily so Sarper could introduce himself to his new dog, Shekinah’s thingamadoodle, Adonis. Sarper did claim to be more of a “cat guy”, as all bad boys do (Because I think he was thinking of another word for cat). Looking forward to watching more of their Zoolander relationship unfold.

Dempsey & Statler:

Well these two are back again, and ready for their newest nomadic adventure. Dempsey had sold her tiny caravan (trailer home) and all of her belongings to pack up and hit the road with her partner, Statler, to live in a van and travel continuously. Statler was having a few mini strokes as she prepared to head to England to begin the couple’s journey, which was a lot to contend with given her ADHD, anxiety, and now, slight Autism. Dempsey headed over to her friend Lindzi’s house to check out her campervan, just to get a feel for her upcoming lifestyle. The wanderlust didn’t seem to be a foreign concept to Dempsey, who came from a long line of traveling Carnies, and who probably loved a good (vegan) corn dog. Statler, on the other hand, was taking one of her last soaks in a bathtub, as she wondered if she was going to be able to handle being in such close quarters with Dempsey without losing her monotone mind. She finished off her pensive bath with a good soak….in her own urine, which was really quite the power move.

James & Metallica:

It was finally time for Metallica-breathe to head to Indonesia, as James drove her through the foggy rain to the airport. As they rode on, she worried about James’s ability to tell his parents he was moving, and that it would be a long time before they saw each other again. The two discussed their new livelihood once in Indonesia, which would include James working for her father’s banana chip company. As everyone knows, the banana chip game in Indonesia is quite competitive (I blame “Big Banana Chip”. It’s like “Big Pharma”, but with banana chips). James questioned if his new line of work would be enough to support them which caused Metata to immediately get nasty and defensive. I’m going to file this under “Things that probably should have been discussed before deciding to do them”. Eventually the two had a heartfelt goodbye at the airport, weeping as they claimed to be unable to be apart. It was finally time for James to tell his family about his big move. His brother and sister in law came over to chat, and were only somewhat surprised by his decision. It seems that the whole “Leaving the elevator hanging for some chick” thing is kind of James’s M.O., as he previously moved to Florida with a moment’s notice, leaving his family stuck in the shaft (Okay, I’m really not the best with elevator humor, but I’m trying). The conversation seemed to really push his brother’s buttons, as James explained his new life of being a dumbwaiter who served banana chips. (I wonder if his wedding song was Love in the Elevator….)
