Picking up from last week, where the hot tub was just heating up…..
Angela got involved in Ed and Kelly’s ridiculous fight (More Ed’s than Kelly’s) which escalated things to another level. Kelly and Molly got out of the human soup pot, walking back to the suite and talking/agreeing for the first time. Things took a turn though, once Kelly tried to prove the point that he was standing up for Molly, which she didn’t agree with. Molly turned her sunburnt back on him, heading into the room alone.
Meanwhile back at the hot tub, Liz and Angela were arguing over the fight, as she felt Ed was the instigator in the situation. Liz walked away, saying she couldn’t stay and talk about it, especially since Angela makes it hard to talk in the first place. For some reason, this made Meemaw’s spidey senses tingle, and she hopped out of the hot tub, drink in hand, coming for Liz. Somehow amidst the threat of a charging Meemaw, Liz remained calm, trying to rationally explain that she felt Ed needed to take the consequences for his actions, and until then she couldn’t talk about it. Angela screamed obscenities, getting approximately one inch from Liz’s pouty pound puppy face, as Ed cautiously came over to try and diffuse the situation.
Back at Kalani’s place, she was chatting outside with Asuelu about their terrible run on the obstacle course and therapy session. She also agreed to block the “hall pass guy” for the duration of therapy to prove she was trying to make things work for one last time. Asuelu, through his perv stache, thoughtfully said “This make me happy. This is good”. Good talk.
Jovi and Yara were having a romantic dinner on a balcony in hopes that they could get back to a good place after their portion of therapy. Jovi felt embarrassed that Yara aired their dirty laundry in front of everyone. He brought up three recent things that Yara had kept from him, which he didn’t feel were fair. He accused her of being controlling, as she sat and cried into her napkin. They left the dinner going their separate ways; Yara went back to the room while Jovi went “on a walk” (which meant drinking by the fireplace).
Back in the bullpen…. Angela stormed off from Ed’s porch to go back and call Mykal. Behind closed doors, Ed told Liz she got what she deserved since she didn’t stand up for him against Kelly, which was just enough stupidity to make her curl up on the couch for the night.
The next morning Liz tried to talk to Ed about their fight the night before, explaining that she stayed quiet during the hot tub experience since it’s impossible to talk over both he and Angela (valid point). Ed tried to passive aggressively suggest that she was at fault for not sticking up for him, complimenting Angela’s rebuttal abilities. Liz, right on cue, ran out the door crying, stopping to call her mom to complain about the weeble-wobble. Mother Liz advised her daughter to “flip the script” and give him the cold shoulder (but not the one that Tiffany Ma’Boy wears all the tie). She went back inside and unleashed all of her frustrations, threatening not to do therapy if Ed continued to cheat during the pointless games and didn’t take them seriously.
The next morning Kalani and her sister Kolini had breakfast by the beach. She filled her in on the therapy session, and her new attempt at making things work with her Chee-Hoooosband. Kolini agreed with everything Kalani was doing and good for them for getting a free beach breakfast.
The next morning, Yara explained that Jovi and Angela spent the night drinking together, coming back to the room briefly to try and get her to join as their third wheel. She got hysterical, crying as she screamed that Jovi has a drinking problem and has no right to bring a Meemaw into her bed. Jovi did try to comfort her, acknowledging that Angela may not have been the best buddy for the night.
One of the therapists (Not old lady Jenny) went to Angela’s place to figure out what exactly went on the night before. The therapist eased into the “ruckus”, and wanted to hear her version of what happened. Angela explained that she was staying quiet until she felt that Ed was being picked on, and Liz wasn’t standing up for him. She felt this may have triggered her since she feels like Mykal never stands up for her, and revealed she used to work in a prison (that was the first time I heard that one!). The therapist tried to explain that Angela did not have to walk around feeling like she has to be so defensive, and was hoping they could work on Angela’s anger and communication issues. (I’m just going to sit here waiting until the therapist says something that makes Ang mad. Then we’ll see who’s got anger issues!!”).
